Restaurant: Elliott's Oyster House, Seattle

Smack dab in Seattle's tourist-central, on Pier 56 just below Pikes Place Market sits Elliott's Oyster House. But we'll not hold its location against it here -- the food was terrific. A delightfully fresh Copper River salmon bisque to start, along with the tastiest calamari I've had in a while, and topped off with the main course of seared Alaskan halibut.
The oyster bar had over 20 different varieties available, although only my friend Erwin had the courage to sample those raw treats. I guess this is what I like best about Elliott's: whatever is fresh and in-season, you'll find on their "Specials" menu ready to be served up in appetizing portions. The service at the table was gracious -- our calamari arrived a little late and the waiter offered to waive it from the bill. The only downside to Elliott's? There's not much of a view to speak of, even though it sits practically right on the water. But we're here for the food.
