Pit Stop: Singapore Airlines and Asiana Lounges in Seoul

At Seoul, the two Star Alliance Gold lounges are the Singapore Airlines' Raffles Lounge and Asiana Airlines' Business Class lounge. The Singapore Airlines lounge was closest to the ANA check-in area after passing through security and immigration. The stand-out feature here was the food: the best I'd ever seen in a Star Alliance Gold member lounge. Sandwiches, cakes, assorted ice creams and drinks of all kinds. The hot food selection included pan-seared chili-sauce white fish, white rice, vegetable samosas, and steamed vegetables with bearnaise sauce. After my fill, with 45 minutes until departure time, I hustled to the other side of the airport to see the Asiana Lounge. Fairly mundane as lounges go, but a decent selection of cold food items including a light salad bar. Both lounges were modern with some clear Asian design influences. Perhaps that does not surprise you. More photos available on Flickr.
