Introducing Abram

**Friend of John, Drew, and Michael, Abram has written for Nakedsky with John on their grand adventure throughout South East Asia last November. We will be following Abram and his wife, Becca, on their 14 day trip throughout Argentina and Brazil for their belated honeymoon.**

Travel was never something that I did regularly growing up. Sure, we loaded up the front wheel drive sled and took the occasional summer vacation to Chicago or St. Louis, but I never really TRAVELED. That is, until I spent a semester abroad at Jerusalem University College. The vivid sights, the pungent smells, the unforgettable look of the rugged and determined people, and the aura of the place captivated me. My life was forever changed. Something that had been missing had suddenly been found. Not that travel is a savior or an escape; on the contrary, travel is often very difficult, exposing our own faithlessness, weaknesses, and insecurities. But in these moments of weakness, adventure, intrigue, beauty, and enlightenment, we experience travel as an enriching and life-changing medium that creates global citizens. That is what I would like to become.

Likes: wife Rebecca; teaching HORT 105; good crème brulè with just the right touch of blowtorch; Jerusalem University College; local and organic foods; Star Alliance members; Community Evangelical Free Church; journaling while traveling; fresh strawberries; jaunts with John to Asia; Conde Nast Traveler; ITA Software; perennial and vegetable gardening; reading a magazine in my hammock poolside or beachside; the occasional non-academic book; my relationship with Jesus Christ; hanging out with John, Drew, and Michael; visiting my mother-in-law in OC; the “grande” steak from “El 22” in Buenos Aires.
