New York probably has one of the most incredible concentrations of delicious restaurants in the world. And for the artsy-fartsy, we headed to Greenwich Village. On a tip from a friend, I directed our gang through torrents of rain to Deborah. Whoever conjured the phrase "hole in the wall" probably had this place in mind. I nearly passed it twice! Despite our hair drenched, toes blistered and clothes wrinkled, we were welcomed at the door and ushered to a cozy table. The heart-warming taste of the food was soul-soothing. Roasted Ginger and Lemon Chicken was a table favourite as we passed forks around. And what's a meal without an appetizer of Crispy Calamari. Deborah, 43 Carmine Street, NYC, 212-242-2606.
